While yes, you do indeed bet in craps and have side bets and bets against the house, that is only because people choose to do so. There is no real reason why shoots and ladders can’t be played in Chinese Triad run back alleys with side betting going on. Actually I could see that being quite intense.
Also, I’ve played this game with an 8 year old, and he never once looked at the pictures
Now that you mention it, back alley high-stakes Chutes and Ladders might be an intense experience at that.
